I Hate Rich People
May it be celebrities like Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Mary Kate and Ashley, Mel Gibson, or just your everyday billionaire who flies around in their jet, I hate them all!
You would think my rant is all about jealousy, but far from it. I would never want to be the way these people are. Sure I at the bottom of the income totem pole, but if I was at the top I can guarantee you I would not act like them.
The real housewives of every friggen state just blows my mind. Sure some of it is put on for ratings, but lets be real, People do really pay hundreds of dollars for a pair of shoes, thousands for a purse. They spend thousands of dollars on birthday parties! Hell I have to save up months for the hundred dollars for my son and 3 friends to go to the laser tag place for his. As a matter of fact when my daughter was 12 it was she who suggested for her birthday a charity gift donation to the SPCA instead of gifts for herself. This is a girl who sleeps on a second hand mattress and lives in clothes from Value Village Thrift Store.
Why does money make people act different? They seem like they came from a different planet called extravagant of flamboyant. They even speak differently than the average person.
Just because you were born privileged does that mean you are better than others? Act like you are heads above others?
I once dated a rich guy. I admit I didn think I fit into his way of life, but I thought I would give it a shot. When we were alone it was wonderful, but when we were with his family or friends they made sure it was known to everyone that my class was much lower than his, after all I was not in a Dior dress, or wearing Prada shoes or carrying a Louis Vuitton bag as it seemed everyone else was. No, I had my Zeller special on, with my $19.99 WalMart shoes.
I didn converse about the latest fashion, or going to Martha Vineyard for holiday or getting a Mercedes for my birthday. It seemed all they had to talk about was what they had and comparing lives with each other.
It was almost sinful to discuss the poverty level compared to the income level of the average person, or what is happening in the Middle East.
You should have seen the look on their faces when I went all out in boldness and stated that if rich people would join together gave $100,000 each to one cause, more than likely it would no longer exist. But I forgot I was dealing with the people who would be affected financially from these causes disappearing. They benefit from staying the way they are. After all if you cure diabetes the Pharmaceutical companies would go broke if insulin was not longer needed. God forbid that happens.
What makes me more ill is when some of these people I hate so much decide to support a charity,[url=http://www.floware.fr]michael kors paris[/url]. They have a fundraiser! Yeah right! Set up a party when they take money from other people to help a cause. Is it me or is there something ironic about that?
Advertising for places like Disneyland can make less fortunate children feel they are not deserving of going to the Place on Earth How do you explain to children that it just an overpriced amusement park and the saying is just an advertisement?
I like the show Secret Millionaire but would these people be giving to the poor and needy if they and their company were not getting the television publicity? Why didn they just do it without the publicity, would that not be more altruistic?
It would seem the biggest issues the rich has is if a pigeon should crap on the Benz, because they would have to take the Beamer instead. And here I sit with my 1997 Buick LeSabre battery dead at 30 below, my son home because he missed his school bus and my car won start. Now that a real life problem.
Sure it would be nice if we all could just throw money at our daily issues, but in reality most of us can We struggle from day to day just to pay the rent, or put decent food in our children lunches.
Some of us don have family to help and are left on our own to figure things out even in simple things like buy a new car battery!
I know you rich out there are totally offended by my article. But how many of you can say you know someone you hang with that is in poverty? And if by some chance you do, have you gone out of your way to change their life? And if you have, did you do it in public or anonymously?
There is a difference. Look up the word altruistic.
Not everyone has opportunities in life, sometimes shit just happens. I didn expect to be a single mother when I had children nor did I expect to be diagnosed with a terminal illness and have to support my family on disability. Or to have all my family members to die before I was 40 to be left alone to fend for my children and myself.
This is not what I planned for life. But it is what it is.
So if it makes me ill to see what you people spend on vanity items like handbags and shoes is more than what I pay a year rent on, I think I have a right to rant.
